bhensonb (2832), Woodland, California, USA May 24, 2008 Cask at the Market Porter. Light fruit and citrus? aromas. Tarnished gold color with a frothy white head. A bit less than medium body with smooth carbonation. Swear there’s ginger in it. Finishes lightly sweet, not quite balanced by the ginger? spice. Some kind of hottish spice - pepper? Good.
Mes_and_Sim (4176), London, Greater London, England May 11, 2008 A Mes rate: Cask at The Wenlock. Lovely golden blonde with a good white head and excellent condition. Wheat, straw and hops with a slight sweetness. Bitter finish. Promises much in the beginning, delivers little in the end. hughie (2150), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England May 19, 2007 Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber with a small white head. Hoppy aroma with some pear. Taste is slightly astringent, though not unpleasantly so. I struggled to find the right simile. Flint? Gunmetal? Ash? Oil? None of these is quite right. Bitter finish. Fair, but it will not become my favourite Adnams beer. detroitsteel (209), Greater London, England May 16, 2007 Pint @ Bridge House, SE1. Light golden body, small head. Very hoppy and dry. Fruitness in the hops and some sort of tar - ish flavour; very intense and spicy. All in all a good pint. ChristianScheffel (2059), Odense, Denmark Feb 1, 2007 Dark golden with a small white head. Tiny floral hop aroma. Bitter and dry flavour with a hint of caramel sweetness, and long lasting bitterness.
