Citrussy hops, with biscuit malt and minerals coming through. Grass and a hint of pepper in the dry finish. Quite reminiscent of their recent Adnams Extra. It seems that Adnams are moving away from their traditional rich malty ales towards paler hoppy ones. It’s a shame, for I have a great love of the Adnams malt, and feel that it would be a shame to see that flavour lost from the UK brewing scene. Nevertheless this is a decent, well balanced, refreshing ale, with a lot of flavour considering the low ABV.

Fresh grassy thistle sap aroma. Disturbing papery sherbet/Alka Seltzer upfront, thistle and pine, creamy malted milk biscuit aftertaste. More MDF than pine like a cheap Czech effort. Clean and strange. Light notes of orange and grass. Odd, thinly coniferous GA-pils type thing. Ended up enjoying. DJMonarch (6878), Northwich, Cheshire, England
