Sweet malt aroma with some fruit, possibly blackcurrant. Sweet, almost cloying honeyed taste with golden syrup and the thick spoonfuls of medicinal malt I was made to eat as a child. Very slight bitterness plus a lot of alcohol. A decent warming winter potion, but I wouldn’t want a session on this. Especially as it cost me over three quid for a pint. Adnams seem to be doing a lot right these days and this latest version of Tally Ho is really the cream of the crop. Very dark mahogany, no head. Fantastic colour though. Full on rich barley wine. Tonnes of burnt sugar, roasted barley, incredible creme brûlée character all round and a beautiful lick of warming alcohol. Really drinkable considering the strength and luscious busomy body. Massively good beer. Tobias10 (99), London, Bedfordshire, England

Very warming and tasty. anders37 (4792), Malmö, Sweden
