Very nice Christmas beer. Did drink it in the summer... at the Peterborough Beer Festival.
Sweet beer, but nice balance with dark fruits and malts. Also clearly alcohol present.
I would realy like to have some of this beer in a cask during Christmass! ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

I remember it was a barley wine and that it was pretty good. It was on tap too. Other than that... hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA

Very wine like aroma and flavor and not much more going on. Bottle dated best before 11-97. Scores fairly well for a 5% BW this old. notalush (2682), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 23, 2005 Cask - no carbonation - highly sweet aroma, plums and grapes in the mix - flavors of figs, prunes, raisins - a near cloying sweetness isn’t balanced well enough by the minor hop bitterness - alcohol is very pronouced.
