| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 27, 2007 As SSB in the bottle. Fruits in the nose. Arguably cherry and peach. Hazy amber color with a beige head that filmed while trying to lace. Medium bodied. Swear there is peach in the start. Great fruity hop backed by strong caramel malts. Medium to full bodied; moderate carbonation. The finish is just more of the same, but as the malt sweetness drains off the hop bitter comes forth. It’s wonderful. Maybe better than cask? Nah, but very, very good. DruncanVeasey (2747), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 23, 2007 500ml bottle. Clear chestnut pour with a thick head of cream suds. Nutty malt in the nose with some inviting hints of demerara, wood and cherryish fruit. A sniff of bolied-down hop leafiness. Aluminium and oak. Heavily malt-accented nutty bitter with a sweetly biscuity vanilla aftertaste. And a spoonful of vomit. lordeche (397), Quincy, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 4, 2007 Pours translucent brown-amber with frothy head. Aroma is fairly understated, with notes of caramel, molasses, brown sugar, and slight ctirus hoppiness. Flavor is dissapointing, however, with very little malt development. The hop flavor is muted and one tastes only a slight bitterness at the end. This bottle tastes a bit like aluminum as well, which doesn’t help its rating. spporras (260), Finland

Amber colour, clear and average size, white head with fair lacing. Citrus fruity, nutty, malty and slightly bitter flavour. Lively carbonated, slightly dry and medium-bodied palate with a hint of metalness. Very tasty bitter! 31/05/07 kimcgolf (832), Dacula, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 8, 2007 Poured an hazy amber color with thin off-white head that lingered atop the glass well, and reduced to marginal lacing. Try as I might, it was difficult to detect much aroma, save for a little hoppiness. Nice tingly, bitter mouthfeel, and the flavor was a pleasant blend of bitter hops and malty sweetness. This was topped off by a finish that was slightly dry and bitter, but nowhere near what the name suggests.
OK beer is the best I can do on this one. KingofCastle (202), London, Ontario, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/20 | Apr 28, 2007 bottle: Disappointing for a bitter with good reputation. Sweet malts & nutty tones are there, but woody & very dry, bitter finish. Grandpa might like this but I bet he’ll like a better example like Hobgoblin, Ruddles, Fuller’s or John Bull. If complex flavours don’t come together and go down smooth, it’s just all hype for me.
