| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 6, 2009 Bottle from Waitrose. Amber with a white head. Unlike the Broadside this does not do justice to the cask version. Lacking in freshness and pretty bland it does nothing to remind me of the many holidays that I have enjoyed in Southwold over the years. maeib (4766), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jun 28, 2009 Bottled A copper coloured beer with no head. A sweet and a bit sickly aroma; very obvious pasteurisation with paper and glass noted. The taste has some bittersweet character but is chemically harsh. I like Adnams and bought this bottle in Southwold which is such a cool place ,but I have to say this is very disappointing. Will retry the cask version this week

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 23, 2009 (Bottle from Co-op, Long Stratton) Poured a brown clear colour with a big solid head that lasted the whole drink. Sweet malt smell with a bit of hoppy citrus and lots of caramel. Quite a lot of hop nose for a bitter. Good bitter hop taste which evolves into a dry finish. Hint of biscuity sweetness and a little bit of bready malt. Hoppy for a bitter, but it works very well. Just enough carbonation to keep it lively too. Good solid bitter.
