| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 3, 2004 Bottled. Fruity, mildly nutty, floral and sweet aroma, with hints of apple skin, pine, caramel and a touch of fresh, leafy hop. Medium amber color, very clear with a lasting, fine, creamy head. Mellow profile, beginning with a small amount of honey-caramel sweetness and quickly infused with a moderate amount of green, spicy, fruity hop flavors. Finish is very nicely balanced; only mildly bitter. Body is light-medium, palate is smooth and creamy, quite easy to drink. Pleasant all 'round. Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 27, 2004 Beautiful hazy copper colored beer with a foamy off-white head. The aroma is not very strong but has some grassy, malty and hoppy tones. The flavor is also mild but nice and refreshing. Notes of malt and some fruit with a bitter end. Not the fullest beer but I drank it at the right time and it felt good :-) urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA

The last sample I had came across as this wild hybrid of Anderson Valley Pale Ale (mainly, the hop component) and Rochefort. The beer is incredibly soft, with this beautiful, restrained malt richness and gentle hop flavor. Absolutely perfect.
Damn, that’s English. The flavors are the usual suspects: butterscotch, dirty English fruitiness, dirty English hops. I am generally bored by beers with that profile, but the balance of this one is simply incredible. An easy session bitter. Actually quite nice, really. HopasaurusRex (195), Glen Ellyn, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 13, 2004 Quite dry for a bitter-not a lot of complexity, but a decent beer still. Cool looking bottle though, for what that’s worth. Would like to try on cask and see how it is. bob32256 (171), Jacksonville, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 7, 2004 faint aroma of hops; red-amber with a head that settles into a thin, long-lasting cover; dry, but pleasantly dry with mostly hops in the flavor Skip (206), Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2004 Clear and red-gold. The aroma is first of the alcohol, but then quickly becomes hoppy. The flavor, while dry is not especially hoppy. The head is creamy and well-retained by active bubbles. Pretty good for an afternoon pub sitting session.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 30, 2004 Bottle. An orange-brown ale with a reddish hue and a whitish head. Fresh, leafy hop aroma. Light-to-medium body, moderately carbonated. Appetizing flavours of dry, biscuity malts, crisp, earthy hops, and a minerally tang (hard water, perhaps?). Dry, hoppy finish. A nice, better-than-average bottled bitter/English pale ale. haddonsman (1234), Derby, Derbyshire, England
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 28, 2004 Didn’t get much of an aroma at all; bit like wet straw. Burnshed orange body, rapidly diminishing off-cream head, quite lively in the mouth with a good dry, biscuity finish. Must try again to see if my nose was on the blink.
