Some pine-tree aroma/taste but overall this one lacks hops presence, especially for the genre. Malt flavour is a bit woody. Not even bitter but they sure couldn’t call it Admans The Great. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 26, 2006 Cask at (a pub), Piccadilly Circus, London. Reminiscent of the brewpub IPA that hasn’t fermented long enough, with more than trace amounts sugar still deafening the other flavors trying to shout their way through. Might have been good, but who knows. fonefan (11817), VestJylland, Denmark

Nice looking pint: warm copper, bubbly but sticky cap of head that leaves a frosting-like coating of lace down the glass. Odd sulfur smell. Some nice apple and warm malt under that. Smooth, bready malt, well-integrated and subtle hopping. Very soft on the palate. This tastes like something that could be very solid if the sulfury funk were cleaned up. But as is, only good if you have a cold. MaBeer1972 (421), Leominster, Massachusetts, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 10, 2006 Lovely off-white head, quite big but low in density. Tan brown / chocolate brown in colour, seems a little cloudy which is a tad surprising. Notwithstanding looks quite classical. Fresh nose with nice elegant fruity notes and just the faintest of chocolate notes lurking in the background. More chocolate early in the palate albeit faint. What really stands out though is a herbal / nettle flavour that I would typically associate with a highly hopped IPA. Regardless it works well but does take the edge off the fruity notes that I thought may follow off the nose. Finishes with decent sharpness and bitterness. M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg
