Dark red/brown body. If I went camping and caught my own fish, then brewed my own beer this may be the result. The taste is mild, but the aroma is so strong..did I just eat a campfire? The malt is what saves the beer.. then there is some hops popping on the back of my tongue. This is like judging the olympics on another planet. The more I acclimate the more it makes sense. Sort of...

Oh dear, I just wasn’t prepared for quite how overwhelmingly smoky in all aspects this would be. In no way is this subtle. Really pretty disgusting. Something I suppose you either love or hate and I’m firmly in the latter camp. The intense campfire smokiness just kills this for me. The whole concept of a beer that tastes like a sausage is not one that appeals, and I guess that I just don’t dig this style.... gam (451), brisbane, Australia Jul 7, 2008 Large frothy head, light tan in colour,on a red/brown pour, good carbonation.Aroma, charcoal malt.Flavour bitter hops, coffee notes, burnt taste, burning wood sensation, think i,ve had enough of this style, not for me. grimreeser (602), Minnesota, USA Jul 3, 2008 Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of smoke and wood. Nice sweetness. Solid. 502Flavors (140), Kentucky, USA Jul 3, 2008 Bottle into pint glass. Pours a great dark ruby red with a very light creamy tan head. Though it is dark. It is crystal clear with no visible carbonation. It has a potent smoky aroma, like smoked red meat -- although I know this sounds gross, it is actually quite pleasant with its roasty malt and oak aroma. The flavor is strange; definitely dominated by wood smoke and roasted malt with an almost metallic undertone. The flavor is weird because it is potent but at the same time pretty subtle, because of the brew’s very light and watery mouth feel. The is no hint of alcohol on the flavor. It is smooth on the palate with its light body and lack of carbonation – pretty unlike any other mouth feel I have encountered in a beer. Overall – a unique experience, but not exactly my thing. Definitely worth trying though. SETANTA (554), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 2, 2008 Bought a whole case of this, and I cook with it as much as drink it straight... extremely smooth smoke, some malty backbone and relatively subtle bitterness.
