Pure smoke and smoked ham in aroma. Sweetish smoky, smoked ham, dark and rich flavour. Great Rauchbier! wkalle (113), Sweden

Smoked meat in nose, not in a direct bad way though, it rather makes it a bit interesting to take a sip. Clean smokiness dominates flavor. Nice bitter aftertaste. The beer is interesting at first but after a while all I think of is bacon beer. tomer (380), Rishon Le Zion, Israel

| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jun 6, 2009 0,5 litre bottle at the Pembury Tavern, on 5th June 2009. Pours deep brown with a thick, off white head. The charcoaly smokiness is intense and instantaneous both of aroma and flavour. As the previous reviewer states, there is a hint of smoked meat (I get sausage) which I absolutely adore in a rauchbier. Also an underlying bitterness adds depth of flavour. Sip and savour slowly and enjoy the long, smoky/grassy finish. Absolutely exquisite. altehkiller (71), , California, USA
