Smoked I guess isn’t one of my styles. Poured a dark brown with small beige head. Smell like smoke / charcoal. Malty watery bacon smoke taste. Hard for me to finish. I let this sit for a while to see if it tastes better warm but no luck still one of the hardest beers I’ve had to drink. gary07734 (402), Tyne & Wear, England

The smell is extremely fragrant, strong smoked bacon smell overpowering anything else. Taste is much the same, some hops and bitterness, with a big smokey flavour which constantly reminded me of smoked bacon. Very unusual, a bit too wierd for me. However, I’m sure if you’re used to the smoked taste it’s pretty good. BelgiskOlklub (401), Viby J, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 9, 2008 Bottle 50 cl. Average size, creamy off-white diminishing head with fair lacing. Brown clear body. Aroma of smoke, tar and tobacco. Medium body, oily texture and soft carbonation. The flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter. A OK beer, I just have to get used to the taste of ash tray !! wyzzywyz22 (771), Wirral, Merseyside, England

Oh dear, I just wasn’t prepared for quite how overwhelmingly smoky in all aspects this would be. In no way is this subtle. Really pretty disgusting. Something I suppose you either love or hate and I’m firmly in the latter camp. The intense campfire smokiness just kills this for me. The whole concept of a beer that tastes like a sausage is not one that appeals, and I guess that I just don’t dig this style.... gam (1081), brisbane, Australia

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 3, 2008 Bottle into pint glass. Pours a great dark ruby red with a very light creamy tan head. Though it is dark. It is crystal clear with no visible carbonation. It has a potent smoky aroma, like smoked red meat -- although I know this sounds gross, it is actually quite pleasant with its roasty malt and oak aroma. The flavor is strange; definitely dominated by wood smoke and roasted malt with an almost metallic undertone. The flavor is weird because it is potent but at the same time pretty subtle, because of the brew’s very light and watery mouth feel. The is no hint of alcohol on the flavor. It is smooth on the palate with its light body and lack of carbonation – pretty unlike any other mouth feel I have encountered in a beer. Overall – a unique experience, but not exactly my thing. Definitely worth trying though. SETANTA (581), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA
