| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 27, 2007 Bottle: Deep red/brown clear colur, with a thin head. Aroma of tar, smoked, bacon. Flavor is almost the same, werry comlex, and smoky. Thin to medium body, medium to long smokey finish. This is not my type of beer. bboeckl (133), Grafton, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 24, 2007 Pour was brown, with minimal foam. Very thin carbonation. Strong smoked aroma. Aroma of campfires, smoked sausage. Aroma engulfs the senses. Almost overpowering. Hickery smoked bacon, maple syrup, one slowly becomes accustomed to the smokiness and begins to discover other beautiful aspects--malty brown ale, sweet, succulant, carmely. Definately, some expertise was present in the making of this fine beer, however, it always comes back to the smoke. Unique, but not something I could drink often. biomechanic (55), Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 21, 2007 Poured dark with decent amount of foam. It really taste smoky and slightly bitter on the palate. Not bad but not remarkable either. robforbes (1085), Bremerton, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 21, 2007 pour is a deep brown with a touch of red hues, bubbly egg-shell head, more than average carbonation.
smell - definite smokey smell, beef jerky, hickory, just a bit of something sweet in the background, is it toffee or caramel??? i don’t know.
taste - smoke, smoke, smoke, malt, wood, oily feel, each taste is a little better than the last, it is shocking at first and then as your taste-buds form to the unique taste it mellows out and is quite pleasant. shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Oct 19, 2007 Smell is not very promising: sea water and old pennies. But the taste, body and look are fantastic. Subtle wood smoke and a sweet finish accompany this subtle, full-bodied and smooth bock-like beer. Expertly done. timdom (13), Australia
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 16, 2007 Try this beer with a hand full of smoked almonds. Not ordinarily my cup of tea however great for something different tunneler (112), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 15, 2007 Thick with strong smokiness which is more pleasant in the aroma than upon tasting. Too meaty after about the third sip.
