| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 2, 2007 Updated: Nov 5, 2007Bottle conditioned and purchased from the LCBO. A beautiful dark pour, with a deep red tinge when held up to the light. Head is off-white and effusive, slowly reducing to an ethereal level of lacing on the surface of the drink (think of those satellite pictures of clouds in the atmosphere). You can smell this drink from the other side of the room. Reminds me of when we get back from a camping trip and I’m airing out all our gear which has been next to a campfire for several nights. Clouds of smoke in the flavour, which although peculiarly meaty, has a fairly watery mouthfeel. Decent level of carbonation. Overall, a bit of a one-dimensional beer, but what a dimension! I imagine it would be perfect with sausages and by the fire on a cold night. JoeinUccle (902), Brussels, Belgium
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 1, 2007 Dark amber beer, off-white frothy head, smoked bacon aroma. Slightly sweet flavor like heavily smoked ham laced with brown sugar. Interesting and tasty, but I was in the middle of a post-dinner session. Should have had it with food. Next time. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 27, 2007 Oh, damn good beer sampled many times at many outside fireplaces, espicially at Møn, where we had two of them. Also sampled at many beerspeeches. An always true lover. Compared to the Refsvindinge Skibsøl this is a thirstquencher, which I might agree. I can drink it as a thirstkiller, but ½ a liter, hmmmm. Perfect for any smoked food, such as smoked fish, spegepølle (salami), firefood and after a ......marathon BDR (2153), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 24, 2007 Finally drove myself to drink this one. Nose of smoke and molasses, barbecue. Flavor of smoke and pork loin. Watery mouthfeel. I bought all of these smokebeers without paying attention to the label. I have since learned that this is a beer genre I can’t stand. I’m sure it’s good for the style but I am not a fan. matt7215 (955), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 22, 2007 Dark brown color with some red in the color. Very little carbonation. The smoke aroma is powerful and smells very good. Flavor is smoked of course, but there is some roasting beef and bacon specifically. Full flavored and full bodied with a medium palate. The epitome of smoked beers, and I am happy I came to like these.
