Aroma of smoke, bacon strips, wood and bologna. Taste is much of the same !! The mouthfeel is thin, balanced with some mild carbonation and very easy to drink. Once again i am not a huge fan of this style, but i must confess this is better then i thought. It’s by far my second favorite smoke beer !!!! Bejaaamin (110), London, Ontario, Canada

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 25, 2009 500ml bottle. black in colour with a nice even crisp off white head. Wonderful aroma of smoked almonds that fills the nose - very nice. First smoked beer and it tastes as good as it smells with a strong smoky burnt flavoured bitterness that lingers in the mouth. Not a beer that you would drink every day. scrizzz (1263), kirkland, Washington, USA

This is the only smoked beer I have tasted so I can’t really compare it to any others. Very interesting though I can’t decide if I like it or not. I am overwhelmed by the smoke flavor. I was really impressed at first but by the end I found it tough to finish the bottle. It is definitely worth trying once though. drjay44 (771), Salida, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 17, 2009 500 ml. bottle. Pours a thin beige head, over a clear reddish brown black body (SRM 35).....nose is primarily smoke, with a bit of grilled meat, and sweet malts.....taste initially is toffee, then balanced by smoke and then mild hop bitterness....mouth feel is relatively light, carbonation low. Smoked beers are interestingly different from each other. This one is a campfire in a glass. Listigovers (101), Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Jul 15, 2009 500cl. First Rauchbier, the smoky smell is phenomenal, I’d rate the aroma an 11 if I could. Aroma is smoked meat, slightly woody, and a bit of alcohol. EXTREMELY aromatic. Pours out dark, orangy red when held up to light. Moderate to large head which disappears quickly. Very smooth, the smoky flavour is thick and builds with each sip, don’t be fooled if the smokiness doesn’t blow you away in the first mouthful. Interesting beer, I am drinking it slightly too warm and wish I let it cool down a little longer. Overall, quite good.
