Pours clear brown with a small off white head. Aroma is smoky. Flavor is smoke and smoked meat. If you like smoked beer this is for you.

Pours a dark brown with a small tan head. Beautiful sweet, smoky aroma. Reminiscent of smoked almonds. Fairly light mouthfeel with heavy, meaty notes mid palate and definite smoke. A little like drinking a smokehouse and I mean that in a good way. Makes me think of real good bacon. Great Rauchbier but you better like smoke.

From Skjold Burne, Aarhus, DK. Bottled. Brown with small head. Aroma of smoke and some malt. Flavor is sausage and tar.

Dark amber and obviously smokey in scent and flavor. The smoke is in fact a bit overwhelming, masking the rest of the beer which is very thin and unassertive (other than the smoke).

Pours with a nice, dark amber/reddish colour and a decent head. Right away both the aroma and taste exude the smokiness, and the taste might be almost too smoky. I liked this one, perhaps only for the novelty value but I’m not sure if I’d drink many more of these.

Poured from a 1 pint, 0.9 oz bottle into a lager glass. Even before I finished poured I was in love with the aroma of smoky bacon which just dominated. The appearance was a reddish brown with a fluffy head after a vigourous pour. Taste followed just as the smell, plenty of smoke and bacon. Great beer for the style. However, if you don’t like smoky beers, this one will turn you off.

Nice dark brown color with light brown foam. Interesting strong taste and great smoke aroma too. One of the best choices when you wanna have a smoked beer.

500 ml bottle. Finland. Dark brown colour with big tan head. Pure smoke and smoked ham in aroma. Sweetish smoky, smoked ham, dark and rich flavour. Great Rauchbier!
