Bottle, picked up from The Little Beer Shop, Ludlow, Salop, 10-03-07. This was the first time that I’ve stumbled across a Rauchbier and now I’m hooked it was wonderful. The beer poured very dark brown and had a sublime smokey and woody aroma. The taste was equally wonderful with an intense smokiness, almost kipper like and gentle bitterness, very quaffable and fascinating for me to try a style such as this. Loved it

Bottled. A very special beer. Smoky, meatsmelling and tasting. I wouldn't drink more than half a bottle at a time...

Dark amber/ brown color, with a nice and quite lasting brownish head. Aroma is smoke, smoke and smoke. It feels like there has been a big fire in the glass. The smoke comes back in the flavour, and reminds me om smoked fish. A little thin, and not my kind of beer.

This is an amazing experience. Dark browish colour with a medium mostly lasting head. Aroma and taste of smoked malts, pork and sausage. Once you get used to the taste, you are hooked..

Being a vegetarian, it's hard to tell that this has the taste of Bayonne ham but so they say. Color is amber and the head is quite poor. Smokey aroma, smells like bacon or so. Somewhat bitter finish. A funny beer to drink...

bottle. Dark colour, smoky nose. Malty, slightly hoppy and very smoky. Very pleasant smokiness is present as well as a touch of roasted malt. Lovelly.

Pours mahagony with a patchy and edgy off-white head. Aroma is smoked meat, roasted nutty malt (grain, meal), yeast (earth) and bacon. Mildly sweet smoked malt and beef, pork, trace yeast, ashy and mild bitter, acidic finish. Medium bodied, thin and fizzy palate.

Draught at Pig’s Ear BF. Nice smokiness balances malty sweetness to some extent. Lacks carbonation, it would have made it better.
