| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2006 Very, very smoky aroma. There is no other aroma characteristic but smoke. But it is a nice smoke; a nice campfire smoke. Dark, reddish, brown body with an off-white head that is thin. Not much lace. Initially, the flavor is disappointing. Very dry and malty. Smoke is not as strong in the palate as in the aroma. I don’t see a world class beer here like Oakes does. No flaws, and a solid beer for a smoke fan. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 22, 2004 pours dark brown in color that looks close to a dunkel. strong smokey flavor that smells like a bar-b-que. this is a good beer ,but i dont think i could drink more than one of these. not something i would reccommend to everyone, but if you are open to trying new beers, this is one to try. its good, but like i said, not the best. my first rating of this style, since the admins decided to change stone smoked porter to a regular porter. there is no doubt which category this one goes into though. joet (1708), Fulton, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 28, 2002 They say these Rauchbiers aren’t just for breakfast anymore, but I might prefer this smoked bacon brew with pancakes, maple syrup and sausage. There’s depth to the smoke that isn’t quite matched by the sweetness shining through its billowing clouds of burning grain. They do leave room to watch this, the beer is a bit wet. You can see the smoke balancing some solid hopping. I’m excited to try the other two Schlenkerla (at the Toronado pronounced: shuh LENK er LAH). daniele (1703), Italy

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 20, 2003 Dark amber body with a large and frothy head. Incredible lacing. Aroma is smokey all the way in a beef jerky sense. Full bodied and chewy beer with a great bitter end. The smokeiness last through the whole experience. lithy (1700), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 26, 2009 Pours a clear red-brown with a loose off white pancake batter head. Just liquid bacon grease. There could be nothing better, smoke, over a heavy dark body to support it. Taste is more smoldering campfire smoke, bacon and bbq smoker fumes. jfm (1695), Holbæk, Denmark
