From a bottle. Pours a dark brown. The smell is amazing. Smells a lot like some of the stronger smoked cheeses I have tried. The taste is startling and unique. Very strong smoked meat or cheese flavor on top of a quality brewed lager. I’ve never had anything like this before and I’m extremely interested in trying other smoked beers if they exist.

Pours muddy brown with oatmeal colored head. The nose is as the flavor, which is smokey bacon and jerky. Vegetarians stay clear of this one!

dark ruby red with an orange tint appearance when held to the light...thin head, some nice lacing. i just dont detect any smoke to this one. riiiiiight! this bastard is loaded and loaded with smoke. surprisingly i can get some maltiness through the smoke, but not a lot. flavor is full of smoke and i can detect a bit of the hops in finish..but ultimately, this is a big bottle of smoke..too much i think.

Draught at the brewery tap Creamy, light brown head. The head diminishes mostly and leave a fair lace. Heavy aroma of smoke, salt and smoked bacon. Just like they’ve put smoked bacon in it for 2 years. It’s the first time I taste this style, but I don’t like this one too much, because it’s just too much smoke, but I might have to learn to appeciate the style, as I had to to with lambics, which is now my favourite style. The flavour is lightly sweet in the beginning and moderately bitter in the end, again with a lot of smoked bacon. It is a very interesting experience though.

Thanks for the prompt hl. This was one of the beers I tasted in Europe lat year and overlooked in my ratings. I had this with the Urbock and so it was a mini smokefest of a tasting. Great deep amber appearance and good firm head. The nose? Well what else? It smells like my barbie when there is a beer can chicken on the go and hickory chips smouldering on the side. Great smoky flavour with little else being able to come through. I reckon this is one of those beers that should sponsor Blokesworld. I think the ladies would love this as much as the show’s pole dancing competition and the customised car section.

Drank outdoors. A beer that was drank in reverse temperature. Started around 65 ended around 35. Interesting experience. Pours an amber brown color similar to a brown ale. Not much head but what is there is light tan and fizzy. Nose is bacon, animal fat, and cheap gouda cheese. Taste is pretty much the same thing. This beer is not as thick, rich, complex, or delicious as its older brother. It has some merit but it comes off a bit one dimensional and that dimension is smoked animals. I should note that tasting warm to cold is a real eye opening experience because its easier to detect what you have lost rather than what you have gained.

Creamy and persistent foam, great adhesion. Color dark brown with red glares, much not veiled and bubbly; much elegant one. Incredible scent and wrapping. Aroma of filled with smoke meat, bacon, burnt wood and scamorza. Full bodied and intense taste. Strong bitter and of long persistence. Astonishing.

Wow! This is one of the most distinct beers I have ever tasted. It’s like tasting the inside of a smoke house! Perhaps great with any type of meat. I’ve had some other smoked beers, but this one the flavor definitely stands out. A nice dark color. Every sip leaves me guessing. I found this to be one of the most interesting beers in a long time.
