High brown creamy and lasting head. Very dark brown almost black body. Heavy smoke aroma, so dominant that you can smell nothing else. Flavor smokey but with notes of hops and caramel. I do not know why but I I get the feeling of seaweed as well as light and fresh because the temperature is just right. Tar and tow is also apparent. Interesting.

Bottled. Poured a clear reddish-brown with a well-maintained cap of beige head... thick, thorough lacing. The aroma was remniscent of a smoldering campfire and well-smoked sausage... deeper down were caramel, mild alcohol, and fresh autumn leaves... nice stuff.

The flavor was a tad sharper and less refined.. brown sugar, caramel, and intensely-smoked malts... salty with some very well-smoked lunchmeat.. sharp around the edges (I was struggling with the source, and I think BeerBelcher hit it with seawater). Medium-bodied... left salty bacon on a long finish. Solid drink.

Its smoke. Thought it would go well with smoked fish. b Maybe for cooking, for barbecue..hmm! the possibilities. There is a decent ale there and then there is the smoke taste. Worth trying once.

Bottle (500ml). I have had this a few times, now I will attempt to rate it. You have to be in the mood for this one. Right from the cap-pop, there’s a lovely smoky bacon aroma in the air. Poured deep ruby-brown, with a very large, foamy, bubbly light tan head. Aroma is smoke, raw meat (sorry!), iron-tangy like thick blood, fresh-hewn harwood, some heavy yeast and various strong earthy notes - dirt, mulch, mushrooms. Taste is mosty smoke - campfire, smoke-house, wet ashes - and a little sweet malt getting through. Most of the normal tasting vernacular just doesn’t apply to this one. Mouthfeel is oily and a little thin-bodied for the colour and aroma. As it warms, I have to hold my breath to drink it - the butcher-shop aroma gets almost overpowering. Hard to finish and I dare you to have TWO.

Bottle 500ml

Classical 500 ml euro bottle. Perfect shape for and size
Appearance :Good clean lager with medium fine top.
Nose :Country smoked kielbasa, slightly strong at first but with time rauch blends with body seamlessly.
Flavour/Palate: Medium bodied, gently yet assertive warming alcohol. Clean malt work creates perfect blanket for smoky character. Quiet refreshing liquid meal. Very Central European in character. Definitively not for everyone, beginner might be put off by such unusually meaty character. If you are able to put behind this with acquired taste this is true treat!

Dark brown color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is smoked bacon, campfire smoke and more smoked bacon. A medium bodied marzen. Holy smokes this beer is smoky. But, behind the smoke is a nice malt backbone that is slightly sweet. Like the Urbock, once your palate gets over the initial smoke shock, this turns into a very smooth nice flavorful beer. Not as smoky as the urbock, but it still very intense. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is smoky.

October 2005 - Dark brown body with a small beige head. Massive smokey, nitratey, sweet smoked meat like note. Smoke is mildly less prominent than aroma, similar character throughout. I can’t really get too far past the smoke to the underlying beer. Dry finish. Average palate. Just really does not do it for me. 4/3/3/3/12 - 2.5 <P> January 2004 - Extremely smokey aroma emminates from the dark burnt amber bodies brew like the campfire smell that invades your clothing after a long camping trip. Flavour is malty with smoke sausage like qualities, with a long lingering aftertaste. Don’t like it... Smoked is not for me, four guys couldn’t finish this bottle. 4/3/3/3/5 - 1.8

Bottle @ peculiar pub. Dark brown with heavy smoked flavor, chewy bacon, and smoke is all over.
