I liked it, very quallity. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 22, 2006 Bottle pours a bright, deep-mahogany with a creamy, ecru head that holds and laces. While this beer conjures the same aromas as the <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/aecht-schlenkerl I tried recently ("smoked sausage or ham, charcoal, campfire"), the flavor and palate are more savory and refined. I find no chemical slant but instead I stumble across dark fruit in the flavor. The aftertaste is at once smoke and roasted malt, and a buttery note to the palate makes the meatiness of the beer simply mouthwatering. By far the best Rauchbier I’ve tried.

A clear dark red/brown beer with a large, rocky, frothy and mostly lasting light brown head. Good lacing. Wondeful aroma, quite malty and heavily smokey, with notes of toasted grains, nuts, bread, smoke, smoked ham, smoked cheese, all that is smoked. Not the most complex aroma because of the smoke domination, but extremely pleasant. Average sweetness in the mouth with light acidity and light bitterness. Again smoke dominated. Medium body, average carbonation, long finish with medium bitterness. A real masterpiece. Unique. AMN (127), Dublin, Pennsylvania, USA

Looks good, feels good, is good. RigorMortis (24), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours quite dark - flavor of smoked sausage is deliciously prominent without overwhelming the drink. Surprisingly smooth. Overall an incredible beer. KornDogg (211), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 22, 2009 Bottle. Thanks to Miver. Dark brown body with medium tan head. Light smokey/bacon aroma. Flavor is well balanced between malts and smokiness, hints of bacon... medium body... great Rauchbier as you can taste the complexity, not an overwhelming smoke flavor like some are inbirraveritas (43), Budapest, Hungary

Meanwhile pouring, a nice, stiff, beige-coloured, head grows, which remains long.
Colour’s deep brown/mahogany, bubbleing is low-key.
The smell is smoky, mixed with some malty sweetness.
Taste is mild, the flavour is smoky, special, its body is pretty good, too.
Finish is light hoppy, dry and remains long.
A real special one, liked it!
