Off-white disappearing head with some lace. Copper colour with faint ruby tint. Huge beech smokiness with malty undertones. Soft carbonation. Flavour is also smoky but less so, with malt, woodiness, and faint fruit before heading into a crisp finish. As the beer warms, the smoke fades leaving even more fruit and wood flavour in the glass with some nuttiness becoming apparent as well. Some spicy hops seem to come out as well. Very tasty.

More subdued than the urbock; malty with somewhat bitter finish; great stuff.

Oh, damn good beer sampled many times at many outside fireplaces, espicially at Møn, where we had two of them. Also sampled at many beerspeeches. An always true lover. Compared to the Refsvindinge Skibsøl this is a thirstquencher, which I might agree. I can drink it as a thirstkiller, but ½ a liter, hmmmm. Perfect for any smoked food, such as smoked fish, spegepølle (salami), firefood and after a ......marathon

Draught at the brewery, dark brown with a large pillowy slightly beige head. Unbelieveable aroma - so smoky ham. That smokiness carries through to the flavour and a smooth mouthfeel. Wow, so unique and strangely delicious.

bottled 500 ml. Multiple tastings. Bottle brown color with large beige head. Intense smokey flavor and taste. But still well balanced. A true classic.

Cask at GBBF 06’: my first rauchbier and what a treat, dark brown-red colour, great aroma of smoked meat, smoked bacon and cold cut salami, mmmm... really mouth watering, the flavor is pretty the same, very rich, very appetite arousing, some woody notes, some light sweetness, very smooth and highly drinkable.
