Copper colour with faint ruby tint. Huge beech smokiness with malty undertones. Soft carbonation. Flavour is also smoky but less so, with malt, woodiness, and faint fruit before heading into a crisp finish. As the beer warms, the smoke fades leaving even more fruit and wood flavour in the glass with some nuttiness becoming apparent as well. Some spicy hops seem to come out as well. Very tasty. ontario102 (794), Boise, Idaho, USA

Also sampled at many beerspeeches. An always true lover. Compared to the Refsvindinge Skibsøl this is a thirstquencher, which I might agree. I can drink it as a thirstkiller, but ½ a liter, hmmmm. Perfect for any smoked food, such as smoked fish, spegepølle (salami), firefood and after a ......marathon TheGrandMaster (1872), Auckland, New Zealand

Unbelieveable aroma - so smoky ham. That smokiness carries through to the flavour and a smooth mouthfeel. Wow, so unique and strangely delicious. footy (334), scottsdale, Arizona, USA
