Smoked nose, smoked cheese, smoked pork meat, speck, burnt wood. Taste is smoked too, like smoked ham. Creamy mouthfeel, slight "clear-your-palate" sour finish, maybe from roasted malt. A beautiful beer! brewblackhole (1385), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA

It had a smooth mouthfeel, the heavy smoke taste did seem to recede a little. This would be great to eat with jerky or sausage, you appreciate it more with each glass LtJudge (432), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 4, 2006 The smokebeer. I’ve heard so much about them so I had to track one down. Pours a beautiful bronze colour with a long lasting tan head and decent lacing. Being a smokebeer, there’s no surprise the nose smells of smoke. Wood smoke, like a campfire, and traces of leather, almost cheesy. I know, it sounds disgusting, but it really does smell pretty nice. Taking a mouthful, the smoke flavour persists in a malty, even bitterness straight through to the finish. A very interesting beer like nothing I’ve ever had before. I liked it. The aroma obviously has smokiness but not as much as expected, it is much more subtle than that. It is a meaty smokiness, and this really comes out in the taste which is devine. It is so, so tasty; my only criticism being that it needs a little more body. A World classic beer. Score 4.4 Subsequent rating scored 3.8. Clear deep amber in colour. Lots of smokey smell and flavor, with just a hint of hops. Surprisingly refreshing, but perhaps just a bit unbalanced, as it could have used a bit more "beer" flavor. Still, this will be my new campfire favorite! AdamSkillin (376), High Bridge, New Jersey, USA

This one’s not overcarbonated, it pours with a head like a good whipped cream or soft-serve ice cream, and it tastes like a smoked meat. What could be better and manlier than a beer that tastes like meat? Not much. You really have to be tough to drink an entire 1 pint + bottle of this tasty baconey delicious smokey beer, but I am that tough. Hulkamania rules. 11026 (1779), Alabama, USA

Ruby notes when backlit. Scant head formation. Holy smoke aroma Batman. Smells like smoked meats and old smoldering campfire. First flavors are malty and sweet eroding to a very present smoke flavor. Pleasant little hop twang in the finish. Damn nice smoked beer!!!
