Jul 7, 2008 Bottle. This beer was bacon in a bottle. Aroma of bacon, tasted like smoked bacon. Nice dark color and light brown head. At every tasting there is at least one stinker and this was it! It’s as if the brewer poured bacon grease into the yeast and had a go at it. NO thanks.

Jul 7, 2008 I like this beer in it’s darker form then the Weizen, is not my favorite. The smoke is on the aroma but the taste of this is just not as full bodied. Lacks in the texture and complexity of the Marzen.

Jul 7, 2008 Good thick frothy head on a misty red/brown pour good carbonation.Aroma smokey liccorice burnt wood,bacon.Flavour,cooked wheat,bitter,burnt wood,bacon notes,the flavour is over-bearing for me,the wheat is a little more sour than bitter.Finish sour,smokey,toostrong in flavor,over the top.

Jul 6, 2008 Off-white head, which was quite thick. Muddy brown color. Aroma is a combination of smoke and hefe. Didn’t think it could be done, but this beer proves you wrong. Really smoky at front and then it eases into the hefe flavors. Little citrusy sweetness. Leaves awesome smoky aftertaste. Meaty. I love this beer more than I love beer.

Jun 25, 2008 this is amazing, i can’t taste wheat whatsoever but i feel like i am inhaling smoke from a BBQ and eating sausage at the same time.
