Ungstrup (11354), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 28, 2004 The aroma is of tar and rope - much like the Märzen. The color is amber and it has a beutiful head. The flavor is lovely of smoke, tar, rope, and malt. A very nice beer. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Mar 29, 2002 Dark reddish brown and hazy. Estery, smokey aroma. Well drinkable with nice wheat and banana flavour. A balanced and unusual beer. Papsoe (10285), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 13, 2005 Updated: Oct 14, 2005(Bottle 50 cl) This must be unique. I’ve never heard of another smoked Weizen - I guess I just have to go to Bavaria soon. Dark mahogany color, slightly hazy with a light, beige head. The smoked flavor isn’t that evident to begin with, but gains as the beer heats up. The wheat isn’t particularly distinct; it’s hidden behind the smoke. But it’s definitely unique. 070904 Oakes (6973), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 2, 2001 Lots of bursting smoke in the aroma; vibrant, smooth smoke flavour mixes with bananas - almost dessert-like. Quite different - well balanced and interesting but I think once the novelty wears off this won’t be nearly as good as the others. yespr (6889), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jun 12, 2008 50 cL bottle. Pours hazy to murky brown with a huge, creamy and tan head. Smoked tar and rubber aroma, bonfire notes too. Flavour is solid smoked. Light tarish note and somewhat rubber like towards leathery. Ends dry and with a mild wheat eastery note. The wheat does provide a light ester note and creamy feel throughout, but obviously is this beer dominated by the smoke.
