Bottle at the Cask Pub & Kitchen on 27th October 2009. Brown, hazy with a white head. Easy drinking yet exquisitely smoky with some deluxe hop notes. A delicious alternative to an ordinary wheatbeer and well worth seeking out!

Nov 30, 2009 Pre-Cheesesteak Tour ’09 breakfast beer.... Pours a hazy brown with a white head, not at all viscous, looks thin... Heavily smoked meats dominate the aroma.... Flavor follows with notes of clove and a slight touch of banana coming through... medium thin body/mouthfeel... Smoked bacon... Good breakfast beer in the right context...

Nov 28, 2009 bottle 500ml from local Alko. hazy light brown good lacing. Taste: balanced union with sweet banana clove and smoky ham.Pleasant long aftertaste bit minerals dryish. Spring 2006 I visited at brewery restaurant Bamberg.

Nov 27, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear light brown color with a small transparent head that dissipates to nothing. Nose is lightly salty and peaty with a dryness. Nose is not over powering which I like a lot. Palate is medium and smooth with a nice dryness. Flavor is light dry malt notes with a hint of salt and some light toasty notes.

Nov 26, 2009 Bottle. Hazy dark copper with a medium-sized off-white head. The aroma is smoky, malty and wheaty. Flavour is also quite smoky with notes of wheat, spices, banana, malt and a hint of bitterness. Medium-bodied, high carbonation. Very good smoked weizen.

Lovely orange hazy colour with beige long lasting head.
Smokey nose, too smokey for me.
Weisse like with all the yeasty stuff, just with an giant gun-smoke added.
I prefer the Märzen.

Nov 14, 2009 Bottle 0,5 l. Murky brown, beige fluffy head. Nose has banana, wheat, some spicyness, smoke and some tar maybe. Flavor has it right, wheat, underying bitterness, some roast, smoke and tar. The smokiness is subtle compared to märzen and urbock, which I think is good choice here. A very nice aftertaste similar to other Schlenkerlas. Very very nice indeed, we’re so lucky to have this brewery and good distribution.

Nov 14, 2009 I had high expectation of this beer, because the hefe and smoked beers are both of my favourites styles. Appearance is hefe like, dark brown with big blonde head. Tarliquirice, smoke in the aroma and smoked beer is on the top. Flavour is more combination of styles, tar, sourness and lightness of wheat. Very smooth, slippery and nice to drink. I had high expectations of this beer and all expectaions fullfilled; balanced, style combinated beer and smoked beer dominates, but still wheat lightening and balanced the beer. Great!

Nov 13, 2009 500 ml bottle. Hazy dark coppery brown colour, thick and creamy head. Smoky aroma with some banana and spices. Smoke dominates the flavour, which has also some wheat, fruits and spices. Very interesting.
