muddy brown with a nice tan head, slightly fruity rich sweet malt aroma, lots of rich carmel malt flavor, like a cross between a bock and a barleywine, almost cloying but balanced without being hoppy

Caramelly malt-accented lager. Clean, with hints of darker things like toffee. Overall sweet but seems to also come through with occasional fits of astringency. bu11zeye (5675), Frisco, Texas, USA

It’s a light brown with some bubbles and film for a head. The aroma is caramel corn candy and butterscotch. Thin to drink, it’s got a mild, sweet caramel flavor with a sprinkling of earthy hops in the finish. Passable.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 24, 2004 Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy light brown. Aroma is lightly malty (grain,
caramel), lightly yeasty (mold). Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet,
moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Another weird one from
Tver...sour and yeasty, not what was expected, but kind of interesting considering the origin. Again, kind of
reminds me of what a Belgian brewer might do in Russia. motelpogo (4399), Plzen, Czech Republic

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 11, 2003 Starts off with a malty, overripe vegetable aroma - not unpleasant. The color is dark ruby red - looks like a barley wine. The head is spotty and clumpy. Flavor is initially malty sweet but turns cloying quite quickly. Has elements of chocolate and prunes. Interesting bottle - looks like a Russian bottle of Worcestershire Sauce.
