The aroma is very fruity (banana, apricot, pineapple). Taste is dominated by fruit and spices (clove, black pepper). Also a note of clover honey. Finishes dry and just slightly bitter. The best Belgian blond I’ve tasted. DruncanVeasey (2768), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England

Invitingly peppery tropical fruit aroma with hints of banana, apple and alcohol. Mellow, fruity and Leffe-ishly spicy with a touch more bitterness in the finish, and a hint of hop presence about it. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 4, 2007 Absolutely beautiful in the chalice, appearing as mostly translucent and caramel blonde in color, with whipped froth resting an inch thick on top. Aroma digs in with baguettes, sourdough, white cackled pepper, countertop coriander, fresh cotton and a hint of floral like lavender. Flavor builds it out more explicitly, realizing a floral hop bitterness to the stark, sharp, buttery sourdough crust. The cackled peppercorn plays out with untainted dryer sheets and a touch of morning glories. Pils malt base supports the fuller flavor throughout and goes to show just how long ago this style was introduced to take marketshare away from the German lager. Crisp baguette follow-through, allowing the full flavor to entwine the tongue with bakery implications amidst the ample bittering display. GreatLibations (1454), Last Supper, Arizona, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jul 4, 2007 Pours golden w/ a full lasting semi creamy froth. Nice lacing, full and sticky. Aromas of crisp malted banana meal. Medium nectar w/ ample residual effers. Strongly flavored w/ creamy vanilla stuffed bananas and crisp wild apples. Mildly spiced w/ a perfect peachpit bittering that sets in midpalate and sticks through to the finish. The finish is long and lingering w/ a nice bittering component. The abundance of crispy effers keeps this one alive and on it’s toes. Well balanced. Highly recommended. cazort (421), Newark, Delaware, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 2, 2007 Bottle. Aroma a light but strong wheaty aroma...with a lot of alcohol. Flavour explodes in your mouth...very vibrant, almost tangy...the wheat character is very smooth and there is very little sourness. There is a light but somehow rich fruity quality. This was thoroughly enjoyable. There is a very strong alcohol taste, and an even stronger metallic taste, which almost dominates the beer...but it’s not altogether unpleasant. It also has a sort of banana and a sort of vanilla thing going. Overall this beer was quite likeable. 00cobraR (1102), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 30, 2007 Pours out a nice golden yellow color with a huge white head. Aroma is very yeasty with hints of hops and sweetness thorughout. Flavor was your typical blond but with a bit more hops than usual which won points with me. Over all a nice brew and something that i could enjoy on a regular basis. GreenWall (53), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 22, 2007 Beautiful pour, rocky head. The head does that nice thing where it has a thick square bulge on top, that kind of lingers the whole time, even after the rest of the head has gone down. I like that. Not as sweet as most Belgians. Black pepper phenolic aroma opens to fruit as it approaches room temperature. The flavour is dominated by yeast, but opens up to slight maltyness. Grassy, citrusy hops, but a very light hop profile. Highly enjoyable.
