Taste is like cider, with a bit of nutmeg and alcohol. DuffMan (2763), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 28, 2006 Hazy honey coloured, huge head collapsing to interesting shapes. Aromas of sweet honey, perfume, and fruit (melon?). Heavy mouthfeel, sweet but nicely balanced so not cloying, with flavours of honey, yeast, and apple fruit. Bitter finish makes this ale easy drinking. bourne (161), Suwon, South Korea
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Feb 23, 2006 strong yeasty honey armoa. very thick for such a light beer; however it is very fluffy and airy. very high alcoholic. not as carbonated as i would have expected. aerosol999 (113), Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 22, 2006 Aroma: honey and white wine. Spicy bready, yeasty, clover aromas very complicated. Appearance: Slight haze, deep gold almost buttery copper colour. Tight bead of fine bubbles but less head than I would have thought from a Belgian. Palate: Very light and fluffy. Deep carbonation that explodes in your mouth. medium bodied. Flavour : candied citrus peel. Pleasant dry wine flavour with lingering spiciness. Yeast character is beautiful and very well balanced. Very dry soda cracker character in the finish with lingering alcohol notes but not overpowering. Overall: Not as bold as most abbey beers but a very good introduction the less easily accessible Abbey/Belgian styles. That being said a beer that holds it’s own. smcd (366), USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 20, 2006 If let to settle, can pour relatively clear. Golden. Big, white head that dissipates faster than one would at first assume. Mild Belgian aromas typical of the style (some citrus, yeast, malt ... almost no hops ... esters vary on storage and I have seen them range from mediciney to very fruity). Tastes a little bit watery and the palate is not such as one would have expected from the aroma. Very spritzy carbonation. A drinkable but relatively unremarkable example of abbey/belgian blonds. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 20, 2006 Pours clear golden with a decent sized white head, aroma of citrus, belgian spices, sweet malts. Flavor is carbonated, orange peel citrusy flavor, some bitter hops are present, doesn’t mask the alcohol well, how ever good body, and still a good brew. JudgeDread (16), Minnesota, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 19, 2006 Very tasty spiced beer with plenty of esters. Medium bodies with a good balance of hop bitterness. Nice dark golden color with a thick creamy white head. Watch the alcohol it will sneak up on you. jsou (20), Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA

Affilgem is no exception. Very drinkable. You wouldn’t know this is 7% abv...until you drink a few. Wonderful aroma. Great looking & tasting.
