| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 14, 2008 Bottle from Corks, Bristol. Mahogany coloured with a thick, tight off-white head. Aroma of caramel and red fruit. Flavour was very sweet, to the point of being cloying, with a touch of spice, raisins and a short dry finish. A syrupy residue was left in the glass. Not for me. One could tell that it’s a high quality product, yet it is dull and boring. Doesn’t compare to Affligem Triple. Will pass on next time. lithilorn (181), Covilhã, Portugal

Not to be drunk in large doses, but still not as heavy as the most complex in the genre. Wim (1321), Turnhout, Belgium

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 10, 2008 Cloudy red amber color medium light brown head with not much bubbles seen in the glass. Sweet malt aroma at first but gives way to a wierd mold kind of smell. A definite rock sugar aroma noticed as well. Sweet initial taste transitions to a cherry tartness. Palate is light, not as bubbly as other strong belgiums. A well blended dubbel that handles its alcohol very well.
