Good aroma and flavors of malt, caramel, spice and a bit of fruit. Medium body makes it pretty drinkable. Pretty decent. 944play (66), Santa Rosa, California, USA

Anise and peach stand out against a breadier background nose. Palate carries a weird bicarbonate tingle. Good but certainly not great. Ober (1226), Bommelerwaard, Netherlands

The aroma has a little caramel malt and some fruity sweet, with a little spicy. The taste is malty with notes of raisin, coriander and a little bitter in the back. BoBoChamp (1407), Gent, Belgium

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 18, 2008 Poured mahogany/ruby red with a generous bubbly head that had good retention and left great lacing. Aromas of dark fruit, carmelized sugar, and something like herbal tea. Sweet maltiness came first on the tongue, with dark fruits - prunes and grapes - and faint hops. Medium bodied, a bit watery, great carbonation, and a pleasantly dry aftertaste. KiwiJonno (70), Christchurch, New Zealand

Beer was poored for me, but Poors a reddish-brown beer with a big head. Creamy palate, sweet malt tastes with fruit and spice. Probably could only have a couple of these but nice all the same. mattmc1973 (311), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jul 2, 2008 750ml bottle, pours a clear red/brown with big frothy off-white head. Aroma not very strong for a Belgian dubbel, light scent of malt and fruit, with some acidic character and alcohol. Taste is of fruit and yeasty malt, somewhat acidic. Mouthfeel is very watery, not rich like most Belgians. Compared to other trappist ales, this one is lacking. azlondon (667), Fribourg, Switzerland
