I have to disclose that I’m partial to Belgians, but I really enjoyed this beer. Perfect brown color, slightly opaque with a long-lasting cream-colored head. Wonderful aroma - fruity and nutmeg. And that awesome malty taste that a Belgian should have - backed with some spicy and citrus flavors. Loved it. Can’t believe I haven’t written this one up yet. martinjon (18), Sweden

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 7, 2007 THis beer pours a dark brown color with a huge head to it. There was a strong smell of nutmeg earth hops and yeast. As you sip on it your mouth os overwelmed with spice, hops, and malt. There are traces of nutmeg, cinamin, and it had a nice bitter sweet after taste on the palate. It was of clove and orange oil, very citrus. Jmichael (633), Asheville, North Carolina, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 2, 2007 750ml bottle: Aroma is nutty, caramel, light candy like aroma, medium malt texture, somewhat yeasty. Pours a cloudy brownish/maroon with a medium sized carbonated tan head that lingers for a while. Flavor is got a nice roasted malt taste, the flavors are layer into a menagerie of wonderful tastes. Somewhat of a nutty note on the back end. It comes at you in waves. At first it seems like a bland over carbonated bad brew, but explodes into a malty nuttiness. Then changes textures into a robust caramel note. This is a very nice brew in my opinion. Quality! Imbockinsxtx (75), Big Bend, Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 30, 2007 Pours a descent brown head that seems to sustain itself with the Colour of the brew a dark brown/amber. The Aroma seems of mollases and candy. The Flavour is complex with hints of chocolate and fruit kinda reminiscent of champagn. Other malts are noticable with an alcohol presence that is not powering. If you are into Abbey Ales I think you will think this charactaristic of that style IMHO. Enjoy.
