| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 20, 2006 Spiced-nut toffee nose. Beautiful pour of deep red amber; great thick tannish head and wonderful retention and lace. There is an alcoholic spice upfront (of cinammon/ginger/heavy allspice), some peppered caramel malt and yeast in the mid-palate, and some light spice hops to the pull’s end, leaving with an astringent finish. There is a thin, slick mouthfeel to the brew. There does soom to be a large alcohol note to this beer overall (easily could be misidentified due to heavy cinammon/allspice contingency), but overall, a decent offering.
