Poured a lovely clear garnet color with a big but not tight greenish tan head. Very mild aroma of malted milk balls, caramel, and fruit loops. Flavor mostly caramel with mild soy sauce and fruit loops. Astringent finish with a not quite pleasant sour bitterness. murrayswine (101), Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, USA

Pours a ruby-caramel color with great puffed up cotton head.
The smell is heavy on malts with hints of lemon zest, white chocolate, and bitter toffee.
The taste is bold, with almost more balls than it has, at 7%, it tastes like it has more. It’s lighter than other dubbels but the taste is still well layered. Good malty cream finish, and for under 6 bucks!!?? Buck for buck, this is the iron hammer of Belgium beer.

Flavor is mosty sweet malts...coriander spice all around the edges. Somewhat dry toward the finish. Not too bad. Bart (1664), Brussels, Belgium

Sweet malty aroma, grainy with some light roasted touches. Full body, little carbonation. Finish is creamy, little bitter with some sweet hints again. light roasted. Not bad, more an average abbey dubbel. auderale (572), Fairchild AFB, Washington, USA

This had a fruity aroma to it, plum and raisins. Had a long sweet finish to it. I was pleasantly surprised. thewolf (5808), Kolding, Denmark

Heating up the taste adds a bit more sweetness, but overall it’s a weirdly bitter belgian dubbel. The sweetness you expect in the aftertaste is not present, instead a harshness of alcohol prevails (not too much though) stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma of citrus, fruit, belgian spices, alcohol, and yeast. Flavor is smooth, prunes, yeasty, citrus, spiced, with a hoppy bitter finish. Good brew. ryananderson (74), Ontario, Canada
