Dark red cloudy colored with big lasting yellow head. Spicy aroma with notes of banana, strong licorice is dominating, nice aroma! Spices in flavor, yeastiness lasts with strong but not disturbing alcohol. Medium to full body, excellent beer.

Picked up at Whole Foods in Austin, Tx. Murky dark orange appearance with a frothy beige head. Good thick lacing - looks like a Belgian should. Enticing aroma of spearmint, chocolate, and tea. Flavor has some of the same accents with the spearmint showing through the strongest. Faint notes of chocolate as well. Mouthfeel has a bit of carbonation, but it feels right in this one. Overall, an excellent Dubbel.

Sharp, sweet nutty caramel aroma with some alcohol. Opaque brown/ruby color with a dense tan head. Tart and sweet in flavor with a slender body. Somewhat dissapointing in complexity though the flavors of plum, cocoa and caramel are pleasing. A bit oxidized.

Bottle. Nose is very strong of apple juice. Dark brown with a quickly fading head. Notes of brown sugar, CO2, dried fruit, earthiness, and alcohol come out. Quick, tart finish.
