Nov 23, 2004 Dark red cloudy colored with big lasting yellow head. Spicy aroma with notes of banana, strong licorice is dominating, nice aroma! Spices in flavor, yeastiness lasts with strong but not disturbing alcohol. Medium to full body, excellent beer.

Nov 18, 2004 Picked up at Whole Foods in Austin, Tx. Murky dark orange appearance with a frothy beige head. Good thick lacing - looks like a Belgian should. Enticing aroma of spearmint, chocolate, and tea. Flavor has some of the same accents with the spearmint showing through the strongest. Faint notes of chocolate as well. Mouthfeel has a bit of carbonation, but it feels right in this one. Overall, an excellent Dubbel.

Nov 17, 2004 Sharp, sweet nutty caramel aroma with some alcohol. Opaque brown/ruby color with a dense tan head. Tart and sweet in flavor with a slender body. Somewhat dissapointing in complexity though the flavors of plum, cocoa and caramel are pleasing. A bit oxidized.

Nov 16, 2004 Chestnut brown with a beige head. Aroma has brown sugar, banana and bubblegum. Taste is sweet with slight sourness; caramel, chocolate some fruit. Smooth and softly carbonated. Warming finish. Very good.

Nov 15, 2004 Bottle. Nose is very strong of apple juice. Dark brown with a quickly fading head. Notes of brown sugar, CO2, dried fruit, earthiness, and alcohol come out. Quick, tart finish.

Nov 2, 2004 Dark brown w/ ruby hue. Soft, creamy beige head w/ loose bead. Yeasty & fruity aroma of bubble gum, banana, peach & pear w/ notes of caramel & chocolate. Medium, juicy feel. Flavour is also yeasty & fruity w/ a slight cherry-like sourness & some chocolate, caramel, & wood notes. Finish is warm & peppery, & slightly cloying.

Oct 26, 2004 A very nice aroma! Sweet and somewhat fruity. Nice dark colour. Very nice taste. Very smooth, sweet beer. A nice dubbel! Sweet aftertaste.
