"I needed vise grips to get the cork out of this bastard but it was clear sailing from then on. The pour produced a mega head - foamy, tan, and with the end result being lacing at its finest. The body was a coppery dark amber sort of thing, and the aroma, well it was simply (!) seriously complex and lovely, featuring fruits and spices. Better yet, it tasted like it smelled. Mouthfeel and finish - yup to both."

Looks great Tall beige head and a deep chestnut color. Aroma is sweet and yeasty. Some dark fruit on the nose but a little understated. Very rich, great flavour. Notes of dark fruit, spices and bread. Very smooth creamy mouth feel and good carbonation. This is a really great abby beer. Too bad it is so hard to come by in Alberta.

tap - Pours amber with an ample tan head that laces well. It smells of caramel malt with a little dark fruit. The flavor is sweet caramel malt and a touch of dark fruit and spice. It’s medium bodied and quite pleasant to drink.

bottle, pours light brown, tall off white head. Toasted malt, dried cranberry, and cinnamon nose. High carbonation, starts sweet with mollassis and some carmel hints and turns slightly spiced with some clove and cinnamon notes. Overall, not bad, but far from being a good dubble.

750ml bottle. Opens with an explosive cork pop, pours with a large foamy off-white head over a hazed and extremely dark particle filled orange body. Aroma of orange peel, chocolate, dark fruits, caramel, and butterscotch. Taste is tea, caramel, orange peel, oxidation, and butterscotch. Quite a thin mouthfeel for the style. Possibly aged quite poorly.

33cl bottle poured into a Rochefort Trappist glass. Pours a beautiful reddish brown with ample tan head that lasts quite a while. Spicy aroma. Tastes like spiced apples. Pleasant palate with a touch of carbonation. Very nice beer.
