| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 10, 2003 Updated: Dec 16, 2003This is an excellent Abbey Dubbel and may even my best yet. Aroma is chocolate and caramel. Appearance looks about like every other Dubbel Ive had, brownish/red. Flavor is chocolate, caramel, apples, oranges, and berries complex for this style! The balance is perfect as the malt does not dominate. Palate is smooth with no evidence of the 7%. This is a top 10 beer for me! MrRoss (617), Delta, British Columbia, Canada

The pour produced a mega head - foamy, tan, and with the end result being lacing at its finest. The body was a coppery dark amber sort of thing, and the aroma, well it was simply (!) seriously complex and lovely, featuring fruits and spices. Better yet, it tasted like it smelled. Mouthfeel and finish - yup to both."

Great body, aroma, and overall impression. Goes down so smooth at cellar temperature. jzzbassman (847), New Albany, Mississippi, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 15, 2004 This was one of my favorites from my last trip to Central Market. Pors a dark brown with a compact, long lasting white head. Aroma of grapes, almost like a bordeaux. Flavor was malty, fruity, and warming. Not as sugary as some, but on the sweet side. I'll seek this one out again. Quevillon (1531), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, Canada
