Great aroma of roasted malt, ripe fruit, chocolate, yeast and spice. Flavor is slightly sweet and very fruity, with all of the other parts coming through as well. Spice and alcohol come through on the somewhat tart finish. A really holiday brew. fidel (945), Livermore, California, USA

Pours amber / orange with tan head.
Aroma / taste, plenty of dark fruits.
Anything to like from the yeasty signature of a good strong Belgian ale to the smoothness of the fruits on palate, coupled with the nice aroma and feel of the caramel malts.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 30, 2008 Pours a dark reddish-amber with a large bead light tan head. Plenty of bubbles sustain the head. Sweet malt, old leather and vinous aroma. Taste is fairly complex, interesting and well balanced. Tastes like a farm ale only darker, caramely, and more wine like with notes of dates. Very enjoyable; alcohol comes through as warmth after the swallow, but does not intrude on the taste.
