Pours with a huge head, settles to to a slightly clouded reddish brown. Aroma is typical Belgian and taste is smooth - it finishes warm. Alcohol content is very well hidden. This is not a great Christmas beer -compared to ...Anchor, Corsendok or Delirium Maria (6323), Thisted, Denmark

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 23, 2008 Bottle courtesy of Indybigtom: Poured a cloudy lightly filtrated brown color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with some nice fruity ester. Taste is a mix between some sweet malt with some fruity ester and some dry fruits such as raisins. Full body with limited filtration and no apparent alcohol. I have to admit that this one was quite good and exceeded my expectations. Rciesla (3845), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Bought for $5.50 in NYC dark brown sweet nectar with spices, yeast and sugar. What a steal for the price. MatSciGuy (640), Rosemount, Minnesota, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 18, 2008 This is pretty dang good. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a foamy light brown medium sized head. Nose is malty and sweet with dark fruits and spice. Taste is pretty smooth and very well balanced... at 9 percent the alcohol content is pretty well hidden and the finish is nice a warming. Everything was one point with this beer. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Cloudy brown beer with a huge rocky tan head. Big aromas of sweet malt and spices. Malty palate, with caramel and a little cocoa, lots of sweet spices, some plummy fruit as well. Smooth, and not a hint of its bruising alcohol. Delicious!
