[963-20071212] 750mL (c/o HogTownHarry, w/ blankboy, GregClow, jerc, tupalev). Slightly smpicy malt toast aroma with candied medicinal properties. Slightly hazy, dark red brown body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head. Slightly tangy malt alcohol flavour. Medium body has gravelly astringence. Interesting.

75 cl. corked bottle. Pours a reddish brown hue with a big, persistant head which leaves a nice lace. Caramel orange chocolate smell. The taste is slightly sweet, fruity with plums, figs, and caramel apple flavors in a medium body. Finishes with a bittersweet alcohol and fermented fruit flavor. 2003

Thanks for sharing Mike! ’97 vintage. Particulate filled reddish brown with a thin creamy white head. Lightly sweet oaky dark malt. Small chocolate. Lightly fruity. Creamy full smooth mouth. time has been good... this is so much better than fresh, but still not a homerun. Fruity alcohol. Toasty. Caramel. Carmelized sugar, for sure. Small bourbon? Small vanilla. Some spice. A bit of an herbal finish. Not bad

I tried you fresh last month... too sweet, too spiced the perfect candidate for aging right?? Well, I guess... I had a 97 bottle tonight and although time has been kind,it can’t fix everything. If you have it, age it... but better yet, save your cash.

This was an excellent beer that i had for the holidays. Poured very thick and dark with an off white retaining head. Smelled of some chocolate and light hops. Flavor was very balanced and clean, tasted like a strong double.

Bottle (750ml) shared by bfeldmann. The pour was brownish, rather hazy, nice off-white full head, good retention and lacing. The aroma was wonderful spicey dark fruits, some cocoa, dubbel-like. The flavor followed the aroma, nice sweetness balanced by some yeastiness, relatively clean finish, spiciness perhaps underplayed for a Christmas beer, yet nicely balanced overall. Moderate body, airy feeling, slightly dry finish. A Belgian you’d be proud to sip on just about any occasion.

Rich and big, more malt and hops then I was expecting. Brown sugar and a lot of it. Not the most attractive color, but really nice head. The beer gets nice and creamy as it sits…excellent mouth feel. Something out of balance though…maybe a little too sweet, and the bittering agents come into the pic a little too late. Slightly cloying.

Bottle shared with my bro on xmas eve. This is a dark brown beer with an awesome fruity, yeasty aroma. Flavor is a dark, rich and tasty. Spices are very light. This is one of the better holiday beers I have had.
