Handsome dark brown appearance, with initial pour thick foaminess. Creamy mouthfeel, goes down nicely. Great meal accompaniment. Well malted combination of spices: cinammon, allspice, pinch of pepper, chocolate. This bottle’s age is unknown, I picked it up in Severn, NY, and I am sure by the dust it was already aged. And so the yeast was abated somewhat, it’s in the creamy mix but not prominent. Wonderful.

Pours murky red/brown with tan head. Malty aroma with some dark fruit. Same in flavor with some nutmeg as well. Good body, and not a bad holiday style beer.

Coppery-brown with true red highlights, murky with a ton of sediment, topped with a mid-sized, tan head. Intoxicating aroma of caramel & alcohol with spicing, grapes and raisin. Flavor found malts with alcohol & spice carried by smooth, sweet caramel. Syrupy yet well-carbonated & lively finishing dry.

Smoky, woody, nutty aroma. Flavor was toffee with heavy alcohol with the tang of gingerbread. Mouthfeel of thin syrup changes to dark molasses as it warms up.

Had this at BJ’s Winter Ale Fest. beer poured a murky, medium-brown color with an average-sized, creamy, light brown, mostly diminishing head. The aroma is lightly sweet with malty notes of roasted grain and caramel, moderately hoppy with notes of grapefruit and herbs and lightly yeasty with a funky note of sweat. Miscellaneous aromas included plum, honey and something resembling a dirty dish rag. Merry Christmas. The flavor was lightly sweet and lightly bitter with a long, heavily bitter, unclean finish. The body was medium, the texture was velvety, the carbonation was light and the alcohol burn at the last was moderate. All-in-all—oo dirty to be that enjoyable.

This poured with a thick tan head and a dark amber body. The aroma had caramel with walnuts and cinnamon. The taste had caramel with tea. There was also some apricot and a cinnamon finish. This became smoother as it warmed up. A decent winter brew, but I have had better.

Sweet aroma, like carameled apples. Yum! Caramel would describe the color as well. The head on this beer starts out bigger than the body. I can’t wait to taste this one. Trying to let it warm somewhat to grab the flavor even more. Can’t wait...First sip...this is good. Nice and warming! Yeasty, candy like. Similar to Rochefort Trappistes 10, a touch below but a better deal. A pleasant surprise. I might have to get this one when Christmas rolls around next year.
