It was also fairly clear with a minimal amount of head. the aroma has a bit of malts, with some spices and maybe some dark fruits. A somewhat spicy taste to go along with their typical sweetness. This was actually quite nice for a standard bar beer. ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 30, 2004 Picked up at Whole Foods in Austin, Tx. Pours a dark chestnut brown, slightly murky with a tight, frothy, mocha colored head. Malty aroma with some dates and raisins. Flavor has some toffee elements with a bit of underlying chocolate. Faint notes of spices, very faint, on the back end with mint as well. Mouthfeel is pleasant and creamy. A very pleasant diversion, good winter warmer.
