Commercial Description:
The king of the abbey beers. It is amber-gold and pours with a deep head and original aroma, delivering a complex, full bodied flavour. Pure enjoyment! Secondary fermentation in the bottle. (Temp: 8-10şC)

July 2007 - Beer pours straw yellow with really nice frothy head, silky smooth. No aroma at all. Flavor was half trippel, half saison…with sweet fruit, bananas and some funk and some spice and clove. Nice mouthfeel...rich, full and coating but with a good carbonation. A slight metallic flavor which went away some as it warmed. Good beer.

750 ml bottle first pour in Westmalle glass. Hazy orange with flat white head and some lace. Orange bread aroma with slight alcohol. Mild honey orange sweetness with complex spiciness and mild/medium bitter dry finish. Medium body and medium carbo. Pretty nice mouthfeel. Well made and tasty. A very good example of the style.

750 ml bottle. The ale tried to crawl out of the bottle. Hazy, light lemon gold color with a coarse three finger beige head. Aroma of citrus peel, coriander and light stone fruits. Near full bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is a bit of citrus bitter, some spice, some light fruit, and some bitter. The finish is fairly well balanced, not all that sweet in the end. Drinks very well.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Golden amber colour with frothy off-white head. Fruity nose with notes of apricots, orange peel and a spicy hint of coriander. Fruity, slightly spicy taste with orange and apricots. Rather sweet with a spicy finish and a balanced bite of alcohol. Good and solid, but not very daring triple that doesn’t stray too far from the safe path.

Aranyszínű az erős sörökre jellemző közepes habbal rendelkező apátsági tripla ez a főzet.Ízében ott vannak a citrus gyümölcsök és a fűszerek mint az ánizs vagy a kömény.Utóízében megtalálható a komló finom kesernyés szárazsága.Szeretem!

From a 750 ml bottle that seemed like opening a bottle of wine this poured a cloudy orange with a fat off-white head and copious lacing the smoothly coated the Affligem glass as it settled. Nose of yeast and fruit, and a mouthfeel that is rich and creamy. Flavors of fruits, grass, and spices Dry finish.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy golden yellow with an enormous almost overcarbonated white head, excellent lacing. Aroma of slight funk, spice and fruit - pears? Flavor begins malty, a slight sour twinge in the middle, and a spiciness that finishes. The alcohol is masked nicely by the spice and yeast presence, overall I enjoyed this very much. I don’t consider this to be an elite Belgian by any means, but it is a very solid beer, I don’t understand some of the harsh ratings.
