| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 1, 2007 Pours out a tangerine cloudy colour. Not much head retention for belgian which surprised me. Some lacing on side of glass. Smell is typical sweet belgian. Taste is sweet and fruity, not too spicy. Fairly middle of the road from a flavour profile. Highly drinkable for the ABV. I think this could be a good gateway beer for folks that think Leffe is the end all and be all of belgian brews. Would drink again, but wouldn’t go out of my way. Purchased as part of a gift pack that came with a decent glass. joohefner (380), Isla Vista, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 27, 2007 hazy gold with a large fluffy head. sweet grain aroma, with some clove and cardamom, and a light banana raisin undertone. medium to full body, pretty sticky and chewy. pretty sweet taste of honey carmel, with spice and fruit. really complex but a little sweet for a triple in my opinion bubbleflubber (898), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 13, 2007 Hazed hefe-esque pour with a huge head, decent retention and soapy lace. Lots of yeasty floaties in this one. Nose of wheat and banana. Heavy banana flavors, unripened, with wheat, spent Juicy Fruit gum, Circus Peanut candies, and slight nuttiness. The finish really brings out a drier (not "dry" necessarily), decently contrasting hopped back-palate. The finish also introduces a bit of alcohol, not quite enough to "burn", but enough to add to the brew’s full-bodied complexity. Mouthfeel is thick and chewy. It’s a classic style-example... it could use a shade drier hops in the finish (if I’m sticking to traditional examples). Other than that, this is the brew you want for a good Abbey Tripel. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 8, 2007 Pours a darker yellow color. Small foamy white head that dissapates quickly. Tastes almost like a white bier. Very yeasty and somewhat difficult to drink. Not much flavor. Would not buy again. joss (3685), Garching b. München, Germany
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 7, 2007 Bottle. Cloudy orange, had a hard time avoiding yeast floaties, low lacing golden head. Raisin, vineous notes and a hint phenolic pinapple.
After breathing a bit and getting rid of excess co2 the flavor unfolds - ripe grape, a bit caramel, apples, a bit yeast.
Sparkly mouthfeel even after calming down, chewy nevertheless. Long elegant fruit finish.
