The king of the abbey beers. It is amber-gold and pours with a deep head and original aroma, delivering a complex, full bodied flavour. Pure enjoyment! Secondary fermentation in the bottle. (Temp: 8-10ºC)

Drank in a tulip glass. Nice golden hazy poor. Great off white thick head. Aromas of allspice, pear, spruce resin, bread. Flavors are preaty much the same as the aromas. A little bitter with a nice smooth and sweet finish.

Pours golden orange/amber with good carbonation, thin frothy off-white head and leaves generous lacing behind. The aroma is sweet apples and smoke. Flavor is a well balanced medley of fruit (apple, pear, white grapes) and rich barley malts, hops with just the right dose of alcohol. Its palate is warm and rich with sweet smooth finish for a triple. Affligem for me went from great (blonde), better (brune) to best (tripel).

sampled from 750 courtesy of Dan...pretty hazy golden with medium carbonation and a medium frothy white head. Aroma is spices/yeast/some fruit...and is earthy, taste is the same with a touch of banana, sweet light fruit/pears, lightly tart finish. pretty good tripel.

The king of abbey beers huh? Hazy goldish body not a lot of head here. Sweet and spicy. Not the king though.

Bottle at home. Hazy orange with a large white head. Aroma heavy malty (fruity). Flavor heavy sweet, light bitter. Medium body, normal carbonated.

330ml bottle - pours hazy gold with thinish white head - would have liked a bit more I guess. The colour under light is great. Aroma is bright and sweet, with citrus and yeast in evidence. The flavour is smooth and very flavourful, quite complex and fruity. There is a nice bitterness in the finish that lingers between each sip. Pretty traditional for the style, but very good.

Pours a hazy golden with a white head. Smells of citrus, coriander and plastic. Very sweet with flovors of sugar and coriander. High carbonation. Hint of gunsmoke. Too sweet.

Good trappist, a bit fruity, could do with a bit more bitterness, but has nice esters in it.
