| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 8, 2006 Pours golden orange/amber with good carbonation, thin frothy off-white head and leaves generous lacing behind. The aroma is sweet apples and smoke. Flavor is a well balanced medley of fruit (apple, pear, white grapes) and rich barley malts, hops with just the right dose of alcohol. Its palate is warm and rich with sweet smooth finish for a triple. Affligem for me went from great (blonde), better (brune) to best (tripel). hophead75 (1959), Boonton, New Jersey, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 4, 2006 330ml bottle - pours hazy gold with thinish white head - would have liked a bit more I guess. The colour under light is great. Aroma is bright and sweet, with citrus and yeast in evidence. The flavour is smooth and very flavourful, quite complex and fruity. There is a nice bitterness in the finish that lingers between each sip. Pretty traditional for the style, but very good. sunevdj (1775), Copenhagen OE, Denmark

Very sweet with flovors of sugar and coriander. High carbonation. Hint of gunsmoke. Too sweet. Dredd (491), Ormond, Australia
