The king of the abbey beers. It is amber-gold and pours with a deep head and original aroma, delivering a complex, full bodied flavour. Pure enjoyment! Secondary fermentation in the bottle. (Temp: 8-10ºC)

Hazy and dark gold in colour with strong carbonation. Aromas of citrus fruit, peach, bready malts, and a touch of spicy yeast. Heavier in the mouth and more malt flavors than other tripels that I’ve sampled. More of the orange and baked bread in the mouth, along with some sugary sweetness, herbal hops, and some black pepper. Well hidden alcohol presence. Very enjoyable. Thanks to radiomgb for the sample.

Amber pour, fluffy white head that recedes to sitting around the edge of the glass. Minute lacing present. Strong hebal and alcohol orange rind aroma. Slight yeast in the nose as well. Sweet start, lots of cirtus, malty bread in the middle, finish is lond and cloying. Alcohol orange peel aftertaste. Reminiscant of a malt liquor. Not that great an exmple of the style.

I don’t know how I missed out rating this last year when I got the gift pack (I bought 2 of them!). Thanks to Blankboy for sharing the bottle to correct my omission. Dark yellow, medium bubbly white head, looks great. Strong yeast aroma, lots of light malt, and spices that seem to suggest freshly baked bread. More of the same in taste, very strong yeast flavours, alcohol, some hops, and more bread. It truly is a wonderful tasting beer that is a tad harsh from the warming alcohol. A nice hint of lemon at the end. Really good!

Spectacular!! Aroma: Clove, bread doe, honey. ... Appearance: cloudy gold with generous, frothy head. ... Flavor: Complex blend of honey, bread doe, nuts, clove and melon, all in a thick, chewy body. Delightful! ... Palate: Melon, honey, sweet, with the hops kicking in to give it a lightly dry finish. Overall: One of the best beers I’ve sampled. Would gladly stock my frig with this stuff. I highly recommend it!!!

750 ml bottle - pours opaque copper color. Moderate head that dissipates quickly. Floral and spicey aroma. Rich yeasty and malty taste with moderate alcohol finish.

A murky, rusted-amber with a large, lightning-fizzy-fast, off-white head. Intriguing aroma with vinous grape (white wine) alongside hefty yeasts that showcases bread dough, barnyard and raw beef tendencies. Bittersweet & musty with a big yeast character held in place by a lightly malted backbone. Creamy & fluffy in the mouth (you can’t tell by looking at it, but the carbonation is rather stimulating). Alcohol is well-hidden, but there is a warm settling in the stomach.

Bottle from Affligem giftpack - purchased at LCBO. Nice orange-gold colour with a moderate foamy white head that sticks around for quite a while. Aroma is quite herbal and spicey (clove & coriander), with a medicinal tinge as it warms. Very active body. Flavour holds the spiciness suggested by the aroma, along with some apricot notes, a pleasant yeastiness, and a warm, moderately bitter finish, with some herbal hops wrapping things up nicely. Very good stuff!

Bottle (330ml). Poured bubbly gold with an average foamy head. Aroma of spices (pepper & coriander), apple, lemon, some sweet malt and a fair amount of alcohol. Taste - spice, alcohol and even hop bitterness, a little light malt backing, but mostly sharply bitter; decent. Mouthfeel very lively, sharp and alcoholic. Solid triple - no St. Bernardus, but solid.
