Nov 28, 2005 A murky, rusted-amber with a large, lightning-fizzy-fast, off-white head. Intriguing aroma with vinous grape (white wine) alongside hefty yeasts that showcases bread dough, barnyard and raw beef tendencies. Bittersweet & musty with a big yeast character held in place by a lightly malted backbone. Creamy & fluffy in the mouth (you can’t tell by looking at it, but the carbonation is rather stimulating). Alcohol is well-hidden, but there is a warm settling in the stomach.

Nov 26, 2005 Bottle from Affligem giftpack - purchased at LCBO. Nice orange-gold colour with a moderate foamy white head that sticks around for quite a while. Aroma is quite herbal and spicey (clove & coriander), with a medicinal tinge as it warms. Very active body. Flavour holds the spiciness suggested by the aroma, along with some apricot notes, a pleasant yeastiness, and a warm, moderately bitter finish, with some herbal hops wrapping things up nicely. Very good stuff!

Nov 23, 2005 Bottle (330ml). Poured bubbly gold with an average foamy head. Aroma of spices (pepper & coriander), apple, lemon, some sweet malt and a fair amount of alcohol. Taste - spice, alcohol and even hop bitterness, a little light malt backing, but mostly sharply bitter; decent. Mouthfeel very lively, sharp and alcoholic. Solid triple - no St. Bernardus, but solid.

Nov 21, 2005 Bottle. Pours a light hazy gold with a small white frothy head. Aroma of corriander and citrus. Flavor is very herb like with notes of corriander, orange zest and notes of alcohol. Full, carbonated, silky mouthfeel. Bottle said best before 11/16/02. Oops. (Not many of us around, must have sat on the shelf for a few years.) Still great regardless of thier reccomendations.

Nov 11, 2005 750ml. Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color. Sweet yeasty aroma with a hint of pear juice. Flavor up front is quite spicy with a bit of a yeast flavor. Some grain seems to be present as well. Rich in flavor with a full mouthfeel. Alcohol is slightly noticable. Tasty, well rounded brew.

Nov 4, 2005 Incredibly, another great Belgian tripel. I don’t understand why it’s typically $1 cheaper than the other, IMO it’s just as good.
