Sep 18, 2005 Updated: Sep 19, 2005Fruit (apples and pears) and weird Belgian spicing going on in the aroma...very pleasant and promising. Great spritzy carbonation keeps the tongue happy. Wonderfully complex flavors...a whirlpool of apple brandy, pear tart, orange peel essence, honey, and strange florals. Some moderate hop bitterness in the finish to try and rein in the sweet malts and yeast from running rampant. Very very good!

Aug 31, 2005 Darker, more copper amber than some tripels, almost cloudy, with a fluffy white head that vanishes. Usual tripel taste of malt, yeast, and bread, with some sourness and citrus. Not my favorite style, but this one seems quite well made.

Aug 27, 2005 3 June 2005 - (Hotel Montana) - Light sweet fruit malt aroma. Clear amber colour with good head retention (sediment in bottle). Fruit malty hop flavour. Tangy, lingering fruit malt and medium mouthfeel.

Aug 24, 2005 Pours golden with a thin white head. Estery aroma of apples, bubble gum, and peppery spices. Alcohol is quite well hidden! Medium bodied with light carbonation. Not too sweet with an excellent bubble gum finish. Slight metallic bitterness in the finish. Quite fruity and enjoyable.

Aug 23, 2005 Great fluffy head and strong hop & wheat aroma. Cloudy pale copper in color. Bitter hops and light pepper flavors filled my mouth initially but the finish was tapered with a slightly sweeter malt influenced taste. A nice balance in flavor to offset the high alcohol content.

Aug 18, 2005 Dark gold in appearance with a sheen of carbonation in the middle and a concentration of bubbles on the circumference. Alcohol is present along with fruit on the nose. Excellent front-end flavor with higher malt content than most. Middle and end were not quite as good, as it finished pretty bitter and acidic.

Jul 29, 2005 Pale amber colour, fine--beaded head; grass, biscuit and resin aroma; sweet/bitter taste with pepper, caramel, cream and raisin aromas; bitter finish with caramel, orange, pepper and resin aromas.
A very good beer. Has the correct balance of sweet malt and hoppiness. A beer I could actually drink for pleasure. Heineken’s best top-fermented beer (that I’ve tried).
