Light golden color with a lot of bubbles and a big thick white head. Flavor was overpowering. Strong and woody with a lof of fruit as well. Huge head, nice lacing. Palate was ok. Too thick and sweet for me. I really did not like this beer, though DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA

Slightly hazy orange-amber ale with a large, frothy white head. Great retetention and weeping lace. The nose is of white bread, white pepper, pear, overripe banana and orange. Fruity, spicy flavor. Well-balanced by the alcohol and hops. Full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Something about this beer really appeals to me... more-so than most triples. Thanks to jbrus for the bottle. World class beer!

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 9, 2004 Hmmm, interesting aroma is present here. A fresh bakery smell, perhaps glazed doughnuts, biscuits, very yeasty, with a tangy tart bite that is midly acidic and astrigent tasting. The taste is almost coppery, with not enough malt to back up the spiciness of the yeast. Lots of ginger, and corriander. Tastes honestly more like a saison to me.
