Moz (613), Gothenburg, Sweden Jan 8, 2007 Big 150 cl bottle, looks great! Dark brown colour with an off-white head. Weak fruity aroma. Flavour is yeasty, fruity and a bit sour. A bit light for a christmas beer IMO. Marsiblursi (1378), Göteborg, Sweden Dec 25, 2006 Updated: Feb 5, 2007(Draught) Pours deep, dark red. Metal, malt, light roasted aroma with notes of spices and juniper. Small notes of berries/cherries. Light watery, malty flavour with metal and a sour touch. Notes of chocolate and butter in the finish with some salt. Sourness and salt lingers. Small to medium body. gnoff (2560), Göteborg, Sweden Dec 24, 2006 Updated: Dec 8, 2007First rating from 2006 (Draught at The Rover, Göteborg) Small thin sweet scent. Lots of metal taste with some acid in the back. You can hint some chocolate as well, especially in the aftertaste, but all in all it’s not that nice. Needs more spices for a Christmas beer. Needs to get rid of the acids that keeps coming back in Ahlafors’ beers. Also needs some more hops. 4/4/3/2/8=2.1
Second rating, from 2007 Tried this again, draught at The Rover, Göteborg. Even though I don’t find it as infected as last year, it still is there. A lingering acidic bad sensation in the aftertaste foremost. They really need to get it together at the brewery or I think they’ll just not be able to sell their beers anymore. Scent was lots of butterscotch and a nice smell of christmas bread. Taste is butterscotch and a bit roasted, though the acidic lactic tone just ruines it completelt. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. Didn’t finish this one. No need to update with more figures, last year it was infected, this year it is infected. thomat (555), Göteborg, Sweden Dec 11, 2006 Bottle, 2006 at Haket, Göteborg. Dark amber color with a thin offwhite foam. Lots of malty and toffe tones. Medium to light body with some bitterness in the finish. Dark red colour, with a thin foam. Aroma of citric and and a little bit of rasin. Thin body, short finish. This was not the best of this brwery.
