Wulfstan (481), California, USA Sep 22, 2008 This is an outstanding maibock. It is light amber with a very large light tan head slowly shrinking to a thin head with some decent lace. The smell is rich bread, crust, hints of hay, pine, honey, raisins, and herbs. The tatse is full-bodied, complex, and interesting, yet smooth and highly drinkable. It has honey, raisins, grapes, lightly toastyed bread, herbs, grass, a hint of pine, some wine and a spritzy-juicy quality, smooth, with great balance. robertjm (241), El Cerrito, California, USA Jul 16, 2008 Thick foamy head. Dark golden body. Very tight carbonation. Lots of pop when first opened the bottle. Aroma is almost nil, but its got a nice light hop character to it. Fresh malty body. Heavier than the beer I had the day before. Frankly, much better than the beer I had yesterday. Hops in the aftertaste and on the palate. This is a Maibock I’d buy again! (also bought at Walnut Creek Bevmo, like the previous reviewer.) omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 29, 2006 [Bottled] Amber colour, rich head. Sweet and generously malty with above medium body. Soft with plenty of buttery malt Medium bitterness. A meaty, very pleasant maibock! beastiefan2k (1181), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Nov 28, 2008 500mL flip top at Spuyten Duyvil poured into an imperial pint glass with a hazy dark straw color. Aroma is sweat cereal and a German berry-like lager yeastiness. Taste is sweet cereal with that lagered german fruiitness. Just a fine German beer. fonefan (5507), Ulfborg, Denmark Nov 19, 2008 Bottle 50cl. sving top @ home.
[ Trade by Papsoe ]. Clear medium amber orange color with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head.
